Schiano leaves, what's next for Rutgers?

Posted by Bryan Fischer

CBSSports.com senior writer Brett McMurphy reported on Thursday morning that Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano was leaving the school to take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers job. Needless to say, this will have a huge impact on the Scarlet Knights program going forward, starting with their promising recruiting class which was ranked in the top 25 by most and was all set to sign next week.

Maxpreps' Stephen Spiewak is plugged into the state of New Jersey and the Rutgers program and took some time to examines how their head coach's surprising move to the NFL might impact recruiting for the program.

Yuri Wright commits to Colorado

By Maxpreps' Stephen Spiewak

Yuri Wright, the nation's No. 100 recruit, has committed to Colorado, sources told MaxPreps.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback starred at Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) this season. He ranks at the nation's No. 7 cornerback.

Wright had been recruited by Michigan, Notre Dame and Rutgers. However, his recruitment slowed after a story surfaced detailing inappropriate tweets that he sent. Wright was later expelled from Don Bosco Prep.

Along with Elijah Shumate and sophomore Jabrill Peppers, Wright comprised arguably the nation's finest secondary this season. Shumate is on his way to Notre Dame, while Peppers projects as one of the top recruits in the Class of 2014.

Wright immediately becomes the standout recruit in a Colorado haul that also features Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.) defensive end Justin Solis.

The Buffaloes now have 25 commitments for the class of 2012.

Northeast home to blue-chip defensive linemen

Posted by Bryan Fischer

My colleague at MaxPreps, Stephen Spiewak, takes a look at the Northeast in his weekly column. Although you might find the elite defensive line talent in the South, the class of 2012 has several blue chip recruits hailing from the area this year, such as Eddie Goldman and Noah Spence among others.

Don't believe that there's some big time talent from the area? Check out Spence's highlights from his junior year and I'm sure you'll change your mind.
