Some people thought it was only a matter of when for Belle Glade (Fla.) running back Kelvin Taylor and it turns out Junior Day was the opportune time to make a commitment. One of the country's top back's, the Florida legacy committed to the Gators Saturday morning on an unofficial visit and will follow in his record-setting father's footsteps.

"I LOVE MY GATOR FAM!!!! #gatornation," Taylor tweeted.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder passed Emmitt Smith to become the state's all-time career rushing leader last season as a junior. Taylor's father, Fred, was a former star in Gainesville before becoming an all-Pro in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Florida wide receivers coach Aubrey Hill was actually teammates with the elder Taylor on several SEC championship squads and the prior relationship no doubt helped land the younger Taylor, who also strongly considered Alabama.

"Congrats to my son @ImKelvinTaylor on his commitment to the best university in the world #GATORNATION," Fred Taylor tweeted shortly after his son committed.

A Maxpreps Top Junior, Taylor enters his senior season with 9,698 career yards and will be ranked as one of the top running backs in a deep year at the position in the state of Florida. He becomes the fifth commitment for Florida in the class of 2013 and second running back, joining the smaller, quicker Winter Haven (Fla.) back Adam Lane.

Put down the moonshine and be realistic.  WVA chokes every year and who wants  to be a part of that?

Let's get real. Any kid with that physical stature who plays in the 2nd SMALLEST class in Florida is the prototypical "BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND". The same goes for Nelson Algohor who just signed with USC. Let's see what pappens when they have to play against MEN and not boys every week. Give me a break.

Any offensive player ... especially ANY Wide Receiver ... who doesn't choose to go and play for West Virginia, is making a huge mistake.  With that offense, his draft status would sky rocket.  If this Taylor kid wouldhave chosen WVU, he would be the starter right away and put up incredible numbers in what will be the best offense in the world (Yes...the World)  in 2012.

Nice signing by the Gators. Now the thing that is really needed is an offensive line that won't get in Taylor's way when he carries the football.  Florida had the fastest backfield in the country this past season, but it added up to virtually nothing, if not lost yardage.  The Gator offensive line was continually pushed into the way of Demps and Rainey, making them easy targets for opposing defensive fronts.  This has to change if Taylor is to be effective.
