Georgia's 24-hour nightmare is over. Linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons finally sent in his signed letter of intent on Thursday morning.

During National Signing Day on Wednesday, Harvey-Clemons held a televised press conference in which he announced that he'd be signing with Georgia. The problem is, after committing on television, Harvey-Clemons never sent his letter of intent into the school. Rumors quickly began spreading that maybe the linebacker was having second thoughts about his committment.

Rumors that grew only louder when Harvey-Clemons couldn't be contacted throughout the day.

It turns out that Josh's committment never waivered, it's just that he could never get a hold of his grandfather, who also happens to be his legal guardian. His signature was needed on the letter of intent along with Harvey-Clemons'.

There were reports that Woodrow Clemons was making himself hard to find because he wanted his grandson to go to Florida, not Georgia.

Whatever the reasoning behind the situation, as of Thursday morning, Harvey-Clemons is officially a Georgia Bulldog.

I find it interesting that Josh couldn't find the person that is suppose to be his guardian.  Sounds like Josh is living alone, because one would think that when Josh got out of bed the people responsible for him would've been around on this special day for him.

does anyone else find it odd or strange that relatives who are supposed to be loving and supporting have their own agendas as to where someone goes to college

Not really. It's typical any more and quite frankly expected. In some cases, it has to do with alma mater's but most in the time, it's about dat chedda. It's pay day homey, cash money money cash money moneeey.

Seriously, these athletes all of a sudden get all sorts of new relatives and friends when the likelihood of a payday comes up.  You're exactly right, it's very very sad.

its sad and wrong on so many levels.
support your children and your grandchildren in the decisions that they make for themselves.
its the beginning of a newer bigger chapter in their growth as people, not just cash registers for
their needy sad relatives.

Good thing it was settled this quickly and JHC was able to go to the school HE wanted to go to! Wish he declared for UF but thats the way it goes sometimes! Good get UGA and you got a good one! I think JHC will turn out to be the best of the crop this year for UGA. Go Gators
