LSU and Texas A&M had a long traditional rivalry on the football field restored by the Aggies' move to the SEC. Now the two schools are reacquainting their rivalry on the recruiting trail as well.

The Tigers made a late push for Aggie safety commitment Corey Thompson and on Signing Day won the 6'2", 195-pound prospect's signature. Thompson hails from Elkins High School in the Houston area, a location for frequent battles between the Tigers and Aggies--and no doubt even more in the future.

Thompson's decision gives LSU a total of 22 commitments, and a shot at moving up from their current perch of 13th in the CBS National Signing Day Top 25.

Signing Day hasn't worked out well for the Aggies so far, with Thompson the second longtime Aggie commitment to make a late switch following the defection of receiver Bralon Addison to Oregon.
