USC added a very large man to its offensive line on Monday afternoon.

Five-star, 6-foot-8, 295-pound offensive lineman Zach Banner announced on Monday that he has committed to USC. Obviously, this is big news for the Trojans both literally and figuratively, as Banner is one of the most coveted offensive lineman prospects in the country.

Banner has some impressive bloodlines as well. The Lakewood, Washington product is the biological son of former NFL and Washington offensive tackle Lincoln Kennedy. Needless to say, if Banner can go on to have a career similar to that of his father's, then this will be a fantastic pickup for the Trojans.

According to MaxPreps' Tom Lemming, while Banner may not be the most polished offensive lineman in the 2012 class, he has the most upside.

Banner would have to be a fool to select moving to WV over LA or Seattle.

Any offensive player that goes to any other school than WVU will be playing on the 2nd best or worse offense year in and year out. Dummies.

Lane Kiffen is more of an over rated tool than a sleeze ball. If your looking for sleeze you can close your eyes and shoot pretty indiscriminately at the coaches of the SEC. Or just zero in on Nick Saban.

Why ANYONE would agree to play for Lane Kiffen, the #1 college football sleeze ball of all time, is beyond me!

C'mon Pete Carroll....maybe now you will come back home to USC. Get rid of that ridiculous Seahawk job cause they are going no where besides you will have alot more fun again working with the college kids.

How much money did he get from Nevin Shapiro?  Why would you want to play for the Canes and miss out on the next two or three years of bowl games.

What 17 year-old can resist USC?  They pull out the Hollywood stars, the rappers, the golden handshakes, the "hostesses," and boosters will even set your parents up with a house if they need it.  I would imagine that recruits are promised "connections" into the entertainment industry, especially rap and hip hop.  I can easily see recruits who can barely string sentences together being told by rappers that they "have potential."

Banner's parents obviously don't need any financial help, he is well-spoken, and it's pretty safe to say that his dad has taught him about the "process," but all of those improper benefits offered by USC go a long way toward assembling an impressive roster and pretty much getting away from their "harsh punishment" with no true consequences.
