Former NFL Pro Bowler Jevon Kearse was nicknamed "The Freak" thanks to his size and speed coming off the edge at Florida in the mid-90's. While he'll always be a Gator, he might have to start pulling for Auburn when the two schools are not playing each other after his nephew, Fort Myers (Fla.) athlete Jayron Kearse, committed to the Tigers on Sunday.

"I talked to Coach (Gene) Chizik and told him I am going to be a Tiger," Kearse told "I told him I already knew where I wanted to go to college so I wanted to go ahead and get it out of the way. I knew I wanted to be an Auburn Tiger and I said, 'Why not just go ahead and do it.'"

The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder is a class of 2013 athlete and will likely head to the Plains as a wide receiver. Kearse held offers from Clemson, West Virginia and UCF among others but selected Auburn with the backing of a supportive uncle.

"He told me it was my decision," said Jayron. "He is really supportive of my decision. He told me he wouldn't have a problem with whatever school I chose to go to."

The younger Kearse rushed for 1,049 yards and 18 total touchdowns last season as a sophomore quarterback. He is Auburn's third commitment for the class of 2013 and first on the offensive side of the ball.

So much for that "family" atmosphere at UFelons. Going to Auburn (school of animal husbandry) over the hick school (Florida) is a laugher. Perhaps UFelons is just a farm team for Auburn (Cam Newton). Speaking of which I wonder how much money from each school was paid to Newton's father? Of course, the turn a blind eye for a bribe NCAA could not uncover any charges.

I only saw him throw it twice in the first five minutes.

Good job Auburn. If you ever want to run a QB keeper play you've got your man. Going to Auburn as a WR and I never saw him catch a pass in the first five minutes of the highlight tape, he may have later in the tape but I slept thru the last 4 minutes after watching him pull the ball from the fullback and running 100 times the first five minutes.
