Penn State is on a recruiting roll.
Just a few days after landing defensive tackle Jamil Pollard, the Nittany Lions added another top player at the position with a soft verbal commitment from Rochester (N.Y.) defensive tackle Jarron Jones.
“I committed to Penn State just like that, but I will take officials to five other schools,” Jones told Scout.com. “My top five is in order are as follows: Penn State, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and North Carolina.”
A five-star tackle, Jones is the 13th ranked player in Tom Lemming's Top 100 for 2012. Despite the commitment to Penn State, it appears Jones is still very much open to other schools and will continue to be recruited.
“I have high interest in my top five and also Notre Dame, Boston College and Connecticut," he told the website. "I have low interest in South Florida, Miami and Buffalo."
The 6-foot-7, 310 pound Jones had 68 tackles, 14 of which went for a loss, 10 sacks and an interception as a junior. He is the sixth commitment for the Nittany Lions' class of 2012 and the fourth player in the class that can play on the defensive line.
