Middle Island (N.Y.) offensive lineman Omari Palmer became the third verbal commitment for Doug Marrone's class of 2012 on Tuesday.

"I love the location,” Palmer told the Post-Standard. “And I love what coach Marrone is doing with the program.”

The 6-foot-3, 295 pound offensive lineman could play on either side of the ball for Syracuse. Palmer did not hold any other scholarship offers besides one from the Orange but was hearing from fellow Big East programs Rutgers and Connecticut.

"I talked to my parents on Sunday night and I was talking to them about if I should pick Syracuse this early," he told "They told me that since you have always wanted to go there why would you wait any longer, so that is when I was ready."

Palmer grew up a Syracuse fan and joins linebacker Myles Davis and offensive lineman Ben Barrett in the class of 2012.
