Flight restrictions were not part of the sanctions placed on USC by the NCAA . That much was clear Wednesday morning as the Trojans pulled two blue chip players from high schools that normally send their players off to college in cars, not planes.

News leaked a bit early but Glenville (OH) offensive tackle Aundrey Walker spurned heavily-favored Ohio State by faxing his letter of intent to USC. Walker is MaxPreps’ ninth-ranked offensive tackle and fills a huge area of need for head coach Lane Kiffin and company.

Glenville had been known as a Buckeye pipeline recently, sending players such as Ted Ginn Jr. up the road to play in Columbus.

Danville (KY) linebacker Lamar Dawson was another player to surprisingly don the cardinal and gold. A Kentucky lean for most of the recruiting process, Dawson visited Tennessee last weekend on an official visit and late reports out of Kentucky had him heading back to Knoxville for college. In a ceremony streamed live online, Dawson ended the suspense and said he was actually heading west.

“I will be attending the University of Southern Cal,” Dawson proudly proclaimed.

Dawson is MaxPreps’ sixth-ranked inside linebacker and 69th in Tom Lemming’s Top 100 . The two pickups push the Trojans into the top five in the MaxPreps’ Team Rankings .

USC grabs two out of state blue chippers

If you were as Sagacious as your name you might realize that things are more complex than whether or not he attends your favorite college football program.  We don't know where Aundrey Walker is on either school's depth chart.  Maybe he saw that he would get more playing time sooner at SoCal.  We just don't know.  Maybe he's truly focused on academics and there's a program at SC that isn't offered at OSU.  The point is we just don't know.  As for calling Kiffin a "slimeball", it's a given in this field that coaches change jobs, get over it.  If our "dream job" fell into our laps we all know we too would jump at the chance.  The only loyalty we owe is to our families.

If this kid Aundrey Walker spurned his home state school OSU, and Jim Tressel to play for a slimeball like Lane Kiffin who has won nothing, and who heads a program on probation he needs his head examined!  I can't believe this kid is too bright.

We at SC are a top 5 recruiting class being on probation with  limited scholarships available for the next 3 years.

It appears as if the current staff is doing something right.

I can hardly wait until we are no longer on this bogus probation that the dummies have leveled against us.

Had we been Auburn we would not be on probation as we would not or should not have known what was going on with the members of the football team.

I suppose members of the PAC-12 are smarter than members of the sex as we are charged with knowing everything that happen to our team and it’s entire membership, whereas a sec team is not charged with this responsibility.
