Fisher heads west to Oregon

While part of the country was still sound asleep, Pac-10 champion Oregon picked up one of the first commitments of the day in Traverse City (MI) offensive tackle Jacob Fisher. A Michigan decommitment following the departure of head coach Rich Rodriguez, Fisher selected the Ducks over Michigan, Michigan State and Florida.

The 6-foot-7, 260 pound tackle will likely redshirt upon arriving in Eugene but has the frame that should allow him to put on some weight and project as a left tackle in the near future. He is the 23rd commitment to Oregon in the class of 2011 but the first to fax in the paperwork.

Hurts a bit, but I'd still say that Chris Bryant was a better pickup.  Obviously he's a more athletic lineman fit for an up-tempo spread.  Wish him the best, but its probably best that we didn't get him

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out of the state.

Congratulations on the pickup here. I am a huge Michigan fan and losing this may hurt in the future, we will see in a few years. That being said I am not sure I wanted him here after he decommited. Not because I don't think he has talent......he has huge talent, but because he went on record as saying he was pretty upset that RR got fired......really? The collegiate institutions are much bigger than you mister 18 year old. Same thing goes for Dee Hart for us.....damn, another one bites the dust lol. Ok sorry, done ranting. Anyway, like I said congrats on getting your left tacke for the forseeable future. I really do hope he turns out good for you guys.

Laughing To get this kid from the U of M is excellent.  It shows what being in the National Championship means to recruiting.  Oregon has awesome facilities but it is the television and coaches that seal the deal.
